Lyme disease is a bacterial infection, known as
Borrelia burgdorferi, that is commonly carried and transmitted by deer ticks. The initial symptoms include a fever, a bullseye-shaped rash, and the exact same symptoms you would see with the flu. However, if you have a rash from a bite or the symptoms persist longer than your average virus, you’ve probably contracted Lyme disease. Even if you took antibiotics to rid yourself of the bacterial infection, you can still continue to get the following aftereffects and more from the bacteria for months afterwards:
- Fatigue
- Rashes
- Severe Headaches
- Joint Pain and Swelling
- Nerve Pain
